Introducing GTM Club: Strategies And Tactics to Accelerate Your Sales-Led Go-To-Market

In late 2023, I embarked on a new venture that combines my passion for sales and go-to-market with my growing interest in writing. This venture, which has evolved into what I now call GTM Club, is both a blog and a newsletter dedicated to sharing insights, strategies, and tactics that can help professionals accelerate their sales-led GTM efforts.

What is GTM Club?

🚀 GTM Club began as a simple channel to share my experiences and insights in sales and GTM. I aim to provide value to others by sharing what I’ve learned throughout my career.

🚀 Today, GTM Club has two main components: a monthly newsletter and a weekly blog. These are the cornerstones of the upcoming content, though there are plans to expand into other areas as the project progresses.

🚀 The "Club" part of the name reflects the long-term vision of creating a community of like-minded professionals. I hope to eventually transform GTM Club into a place where Go-To-Market Leaders and Doers unite to accelerate sales, scale effectively, and conquer their respective markets.

The Journey So Far

GTM Club officially took shape after January 2024. Since then, I’ve published several blogs about sales demos, partnering with external SDRs, and founder-led sales. In addition, GTM Club has sent five newsletters, with the sixth one scheduled for August, ending the summer break. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the interest so far, with a growing base of subscribers spanning many countries and three continents.

It has been a rewarding experience to see my content resonate with readers across different markets.

Why "GTM Club"?

The term "GTM" has been gaining traction in my professional circles, often used broadly to encompass both sales and marketing. It felt like the perfect term to anchor my content, and discovering an available domain sealed the deal.

After some refinement, I narrowed the focus of GTM Club to a sales-led go-to-market approach. This strategy prioritises sales efforts to drive customer acquisition and business growth. Following the refinement, GTM Club's mission statement became:

My Committed to GTM Club

There are several reasons why I’m dedicating time and effort to GTM Club:

  • A New Challenge: I wanted to try something different and discovered that I genuinely enjoy writing. It started with the blog, and soon after, the newsletter followed. This is the primary motivation behind my commitment.
  • Enhancing My Learning: Writing forces me to clarify my thoughts and deepen my understanding of the topics I cover. This has been incredibly beneficial in my daily work and advising B2B tech companies. It may even help me achieve my goal of securing a board seat.
  • Learning New Skills: Through GTM Club, I’m also learning about SEO, digital marketing, and AI. This project has pushed me to develop skills that are increasingly important in today’s digital landscape. Admittedly, SEO is challenging when starting from scratch, but it’s all part of the journey.
